The film then hops through to various European capitals, and Instagram worthy settings and clothes before returning back to London. The film begins in a London nightclub where bubbly Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) and Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) lock eyes, words and awkward lips before falling into some of the most amazing chemistry and dialogue seen ever in a Hindi film. The question the film raises over and over again is so pertinent in this world. Why should friendship which provides so much sukoon, not be considered as enduring as love should be?

Friendship is kind of like the heroine to love, which is the hero. That probably means it doesn’t get equal salary. Going into the 10:45am show, I knew nothing except for the quick glimpses of beautiful clothes, people, poetry and setting in the trailer. Bubbly Alizeh (Anoushka Sharma), an impossibly beautiful Saba (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) and of course our hero Ayaan, (Ranbir Kapoor) frolicking in European bars and clubs and parks, and an ode to friendship as it really doesn’t get the respect it should. Ah love in Paris, and Vienna and London and wedding in Lucknow. Agh Lucknow? Don’t worry, we only hop over the Lucknow roofs and one chauraiya, before being transported to a gorgeous haveli for a wedding. This is a Karan Johar Film after all.
